Top 30 Hollywood’s Most Disliked Celebrities In 2024 (So Far)

Sharing is caring!

Being famous comes with too many perks to count, but with an army of fans comes an even bigger group of those who despise them. Most of our reasons for worshiping or strongly disliking celebrities are irrational. Yet, there is a strange satisfaction in finding a fandom (or hatedom), if not for anything except pure entertainment. We are not hating any of these people but simply pointing out those who are more famous for being infamous than anything else. Tell us in the comments how many are on your dislike list.

30. Will Smith

Ever since The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Will Smith has enjoyed great popularity and was adored by millions if not billions. However, the past decade hasn’t been so kind. The Oscar slap, followed by Jada Pinkett Smith’s book, made the once beloved actor a disliked celebrity. Will the Oscar-winning actor regain his previous admiration? We have to wait and see.

29. JoJo Siwa

The former child star seems to be struggling to find her spot in the adult world. Jojo Siwa’s career began on Dance Moms, and the bow-loving entertainer’s appearances on The Masked Singer, Dancing with the Stars, and So You Think You Can Dance earned her an army of followers. However, her rebranding is not going smoothly.

28. Jay-Z

The billionaire rapper and producer has been under fire for years, and no reasonable explanation exists. Some claim he is overrated, while others believe Jay Z’s time has passed. People have been looking for skeletons in this artist’s closet for decades, but so far, they have come up empty-handed.

27. Amy Schumer

We can’t pinpoint the moment Amy Schumer went from being hilarious to nearly getting canceled. Some say she steals jokes, others think she’s not funny, but isn’t humor subjective? The I Feel Pretty star is constantly getting criticized, but, as we all know, there’s no such thing as bad publicity.

26. Chrissy Teigen

John Legend’s wife, model Chrissy Teigen, has made some questionable online comments revealed in 2021. She faced backlash, and despite receiving many negative comments, she is still in the headlines. The mother of four has a strong online presence despite being one of the most disliked celebrities in Hollywood.

25. Machine Gun Kelly

Rapper and singer-songwriter known as MGK is as popular as he is unlikable, at least if you look at social media platforms. Kelly, born Colson Baker, has been in an on/off romance with Megan Fox for years, and many simply find she’s too good for him. Is it legit? That’s between the two.

24. Kourtney Kardashian

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star is known as the most down-to-earth of the Jenner-Kardashian sisters. However, her feud with sister Kim earned her negative points, with many believing she thinks she is above everyone else. Travis Barker’s wife still receives more positive comments than the sisters.

23. Travis Scott

Scott, one of hip-hop’s biggest stars, performed at Astroworld festival in 2021 when ten people died when a crowd of about 50,000 people began pushing toward the stage. Many believe he did not do enough to help his fans. Texas Grand jury declined to indict him for the deaths, but the event brought up many questions, and Scott became the face of the tragedy.

22. Khloé Kardashian

Most of the recent hate toward Khloé Kardashian comes from accusations regarding allegedly edited photos. Generally, most of the infamy comes from Khloé’s ever-changing looks and, like the rest of the clan, for having no real talent. She was once most relatable, and it seems that has changed.

21. James Corden

The British-born host and comedian faced allegations of being rude and interrupting others, including his guests, with many claiming he was only pretending to be a nice guy. There is no evidence that James Comer is guilty of anything, making the Brit one of those people we simply like to dislike.

20. Logan Paul

The YouTuber turned wrestler has been involved in numerous controversies, but to make matters worse, many believe that Paul creates chaos for profit. Despite some questionable moments, Paul has many followers, and today, he’s more focused on his wrestling career and relationship with Danish model Nina Agdal.

19. 6ix9ine

Daniel Hernandez, aka Tekashi69, aka 6ix9ine, faced allegations of domestic violence on top of racketeering and firearm charges and additional allegations of assault. As an informant in the Nine Trey Gangsters trial, 6ix9ine faced even more backlash, though it does not appear that he minds being slammed online.

18. Hilaria Thomas Baldwin

Alec Baldwin’s wife, Hilaria, sparked controversy over her heritage. But it goes deeper than that. Alec Baldwin has a long history of questionable behavior, dating back to the 90s, though some of the things were exaggerated. However, the tragedy on the set of his movie Rust made fans turn on the actor and his wife by association.

17. Jonah Hill

The comedian was accused by his ex-girlfriend of emotional abuse. Leonardo DiCaprio and Eddie Murphy are fans, but Jay Baruchel found him to be unfunny and exhausting to work with. Loved or loathed, Hill proved to be a great actor, but his real-life person often rubs people the wrong way.

16. Kanye West

Even former president Obama was not West’s fan. West, also known as Ye, was once the face of the hip-hop scene. However, his public fall from grace progressed through the years, and the recent allegedly antisemitic comments were enough to overshadow all his successes.

15. Brie Larson

The actress gained plenty of negative press, and behind are usually unjustified and unconfirmed claims. Larson, an Oscar winner, is often described as annoying, which is fair enough, but she did not do anything to gain so many haters. Marvel fans got so unhinged that Samuel L. Jackson defended Larson.

14. Jada Pinkett Smith

Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, has been in the spotlight for decades. Her memoir Worthy was vilified, though she only told her truth. However, Jada faced criticism long before her last year’s book, so clearly, there is something people dislike about her that could be entirely illogical.

13. Bill Cosby

Once dubbed the America’s Dad, the actor was found guilty of drugging and assaulting a woman and spent three years in jail. Other women also alleged Cosby did the same to them. However, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned the conviction, and he has been free since 2021. Despite what the court says, Cosby’s reputation is in tatters.

12. Oprah Winfrey

In her four decades on TV, Oprah hasn’t done anything illegal. However, even some A-listers allegedly despise the celebrated host, author, and journalist. It could be that Oprah is too powerful for a woman, or it could be simply that people can’t connect to her.

11. Kim Kardashian West

All members of the Kardashian-Jenner family are known for infamy. They built a fortune on that, and Kim Kardashian West is at the center of it. She caused many controversies, and everything she does attracts attention. Love her or loathe her, KKW made the world talk about her for two decades, which is a lifetime in Hollywood.

10. Chris Brown

Brown is a controversial figure, and it all started in 2009 after people saw his then-girlfriend Rihanna with bruises. Since then, he faced over 20 accusations of aggression, violence, or crime, but Chris Brown still has a solid fan base, which makes him relevant, and therefore, he also gets to experience the other side of fame.

9. Taylor Swift

People still hate Taylor Swift. Her music is not for everyone, but people are accusing her of using past relationships to write songs. That’s literally what every other artist did, but since it is Taylor Swift, it must be a bad thing. With a great fandom comes a great hatedom.

8. Ashton Kutcher

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis wrote character reference letters in support of Danny Masterson, who has been accused of assaults. The letters were made public and drew criticism for reportedly condoning Masterson’s behavior and being insensitive to the victims. Kutcher’s reputation was previously hit by accusations from his ex-wife, Demi Moore.

7. Tom Sandoval

Sandoval has been a main cast member on Bravo’s reality television series Vanderpump Rules. The bar owner became one of America’s favorite villains following cheating allegations. He became so infamous that even the New York Times wrote about him as the most hated man in America.

6. Justin Bieber

Several polls found Canadian musicians to be among the top 10 most hated celebrities in the US. While Justin hasn’t done much, some reasons he’s hated include his music, alleged lack of respect for fans, and bad influence. Bieber did some questionable things, but he hasn’t done anything illegal that we know of.

5. Ellen DeGeneres

DeGeneres was “canceled” following allegations of a toxic work environment behind the scenes. DeGeneres’ apology did not help, and her show was canceled a year later, in 2021. It does not help that the comedian and host ended each episode by sharing a message for people to be kind, and whether DeGeneres will be able to return to her previous fame is debatable.

4. Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex

Prince Harry used to be the most popular member of the Royal family. However, even before exiting royal duties, the Prince gathered criticism. Tabloids overlooked his controversial statements (and THAT costume from 2005), but dating an American actress and a divorcee seems to be unforgivable.

3. Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex

Markle, a former actress and wife of Prince Harry, is one of the most despised celebrities. However, she also has a large number of fans, and when the two groups clash, it gets ugly fast. Markle is one of those people you either like or strongly dislike. No one is immune, though; for the most part, she did nothing to get these strong reactions.

2. Amber Heard

The actress was never a fan favorite, but things took a turn for the worse during her trial with her ex-husband, Johnny Depp. Heard is more hated than many accused of actual, vicious crimes. Many enjoy attacking Heard, though it has been over two years since the civil trial, and Heard was barely in the public eye. Still, people love to hate Amber Heard.

1. Sean Combs

People disliked Sean Combs, also known as Puff Daddy or P. Diddy for decades, but recent events took things to another level. The allegations against Combs began after the settlement with his ex-partner, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura. She accused him of beating her and forcing her to engage with other men, and this opened the floodgates to civil lawsuits accusing the musician of assault, trafficking, and other illegal activity.
